Features
Mas Vergèle is an old, stone-built farmhouse nestling in the garrigue des Cévennes, the foothills of the Cévennes mountains in Languedoc in the South of France.
Description
It is part of the tiny hameau, the hamlet of Vergèle of six properties set amidst the local merlot and cabernet vines
Situated less than an hour from Montpellier and Nimes (and their airports), the ancient medieval walled town of Uzès in Provence and the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea, Mas Vergèle is ideally located as a family home or holiday house.
The main building covers 220m2 including four or five bedrooms, two bathrooms, two reception rooms and a large kitchen. There are several private courtyard areas, a roof terrace, a large gravelled parking area, a swimming pool with decking, stone-built barbeque and half a hectare (about one and a quarter acres) of garden laid to terraces, heather meadow and sweet chestnut orchard. There is also a small bergerie, a sheepfold awaiting restoration as a small gite or office space.
The house has full, oil-fired central heating with a new boiler burner and old-fashioned but completely renovated cast-iron radiators in all rooms.
Vergèle has both conventional, 'analogue' telephone lines and digital ISDN lines for fast Internet access.
